Salman Irshad and Brandon King starred with ball and bat as Jamaica Tallawahs beat St Kitts and Nevis Patriots in match seven of the 2023 CPL.

The tournament moved to the St Kitts leg at Basseterre with the home team being put into bat by King and company.

They were almost immediately thrown into chaos as Irshad took three wickets and Mohammad Amir grabbed one to leave St Kitts reeling at 37/4 inside the powerplay.

Eventually, Joshua Da Silva’s 36 from 32 balls and Dominic Drakes’ 29 from 22 not out, helped them to 156/9 in 20 overs – Irshad ended with 4/27.

Then King, who made 81 in his previous innings, hit 67 from 33 before he was bowled by Drakes as Tallawahs got to their target at 157/2 in just 16.3 overs.

Irshad, who was coming off the back of 2/39 against the Kings in Gros Islet, was named Player of the Match.

CPL action continues from 7pm today with St Kitts taking on Guyana Amazon Warriors.
