A prisoner has appeared in court over the discovery of cannabis and cigarettes in a cell at the Maximum Security Prison in Arouca.

The contraband was found during a joint search operation at the facility on October 8th, 2024.

Echeverria Sandy was charged with possession of prohibited articles, appeared in court yesterday and is expected back in court on January 3rd, 2025.
