Raj Kapoor’s legacy is to be honoured.
RK Films, Film Heritage Foundation, and NFDC-National Film Archive of India will host ‘Raj Kapoor 100 – Celebrating the Centenary of the Greatest Showman’.
The commemoration is a grand retrospective of his movies, on what will be the 100th anniversary of his birth – he was born on December 14th 1924.
The retrospective will showcase 10 of Raj Kapoor’s films, which will be screened across 40 cities and 135 cinemas in India from December 13th to 15th 2024.
To kick start the commemoration, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi also hosted members of the iconic actor’s family.
During the meeting, PM Modi said that the centenary celebrations “symbolised the saga of the golden journey of the Indian film Industry”.
