Virat Kohli’s record-breaking 50th ODI century and a player of the match performance from Mohammed Shami have put India into the final of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
Batting first, India made 397/4 with scores of 117 from Kohli and 105 from Shreyas Iyer.
New Zealand however fell 70 runs short of their target, despite a fighting 134 from Daryl Mitchell which saw them to 327 all out.
Shami was the bane of their existence, taking 7 for 57.
Kohli’s century means he has now surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 49 ODI career tons.
The 2nd semifinal will be played tomorrow between Australia and South Africa.
