Hurricane Milton has strengthened into a Category 3 storm.

The hurricane is heading towards Florida where officials and residents are gearing up for what could be its biggest evacuation in seven years.

Milton could make landfall on Wednesday in the Tampa Bay area and remain a hurricane as it moves across central Florida.

Less than two weeks ago, Florida’s Gulf Coast was hit by Hurricane Helene who brought death and destruction to the US southeast.
