A yellow-level hot spell alert is now in place until 4pm on October 31st, 2023.

According to the Met Service, daily temperatures are expected to reach near 34°C or greater in Trinidad, and near 33°C or greater in Tobago.

Feel-like temperatures will likely range between 34°C and 44°C.

The Met Service notes that rainfall events, though not expected to be as frequent this month, may provide brief relief from the intense heat.

It is urging people to wear appropriate clothing, stay hydrated at all times, and keep out of direct sunlight to avoid sunburn.

It says people should open appropriate windows, vents and doors at home for ventilation.
