Hosein, Goolie out of opening T20I due to UK visa issues

Akeal Hosein and Jyd Goolie have been ruled out of the opening match of the T20I series between West Indies and England, since they were unable to secure UK visas.

Cricket West Indies says the challenges are due to updated UK visa entry requirements for T&T citizens, which required both players to submit visa applications and attend mandatory in-person appointments.

CWI says it made formal efforts to expedite the visa process for Mr Hosein and applied for a visa waiver for Mr Goolie.

It adds however that these processes are ultimately governed by UK immigration authorities.

CWI says it remains optimistic that the matter will be resolved in the coming days, allowing Hosein to join the squad for the remaining matches.
