A 43-year-old man has been arrested as police recovered a cell phone stolen during a Port of Spain home invasion.

Last night, a Newton resident and her niece were sitting in the gallery of her home when a man jumped over the wall and attempted to take their phones.

One of the women was allegedly pushed by the man causing abrasions to her left elbow, wrist and upper arm.

A report was made and a suspect, who lives in Santa Cruz, was detained along Saddle Road in San Juan.

Investigations are ongoing and charges are expected to be laid soon.
