Work is continuing to address an oil spill at Vessigny Village in La Brea.

Heritage Petroleum says it was alerted to the incident yesterday, with a preliminary assessment identifying the source as a leaking 6-inch pipeline.

It says the affected section has been isolated, with repair work currently underway to prevent further impact.

The incident prompted the evacuation of students from Vessigny Secondary School.
