A dreadful performance with the bat saw the Trinbago Knight Riders fall short of their fifth CPL title, as the Guyana Amazon Warriors got their first ever trophy in the Caribbean tournament on Sunday night.
After being sent into bat first, TKR lost regular wickets quickly, as they struggled on to post 94 all out in 18.1 overs.
Keacy Carty’s 38 was the top score, as Guyana’s bowlers shared the wickets, although Dwayne Pretorius took 4/26.
In reply, GAW’s batsmen took their time to chase, losing just one wicket in the 14 overs needed for victory.
Guyana’s Shai Hope was awarded the Man of the Series for his consistent run-scoring abilities.
