Enhanced security protocols will be introduced following an altercation at the HDC’s Head Office yesterday.

In a statement, the Corporation says around 11:15am, an individual conducting business was accosted by another person.

The latter left and returned, breaking through the security exit door armed with a cutlass.

An altercation ensued between the two, with another customer trying to intervene.

The HDC says it has reviewed its security arrangements and held consultation with staff to alleviate their fears.

It adds that its Employee Assistance Programme would be engaged from today.

The HDC also assures that proactive steps have been taken to ensure the safety and wellbeing of employees, visitors and customers.
