HDC refutes claims about housing for the differently-abled

The HDC says recent concerns about inadequate housing allocations for the differently-abled are inaccurate.

Yesterday, there was a protest by members of the differently-abled community who claimed they have been met with indifference by the HDC over the years.

However, in a statement, the HDC says it is committed to equal access to housing for all citizens, including those with disabilities, and is dedicated to an equitable housing policy.

It notes that it has allocated homes to differently-abled individuals and housing units specifically designed to accommodate the visually-impaired or those with disabilities.

Furthermore, the HDC says the Housing Minister has redirected priorities to providing increased rental allocations, including some units at the under-construction Citrus Close and Edinburgh Towers Developments.
