A Hazardous Seas Alert for T&T has been extended.
Initially due to come to an end this morning, the yellow-level warning has been updated to run until 6pm on Saturday (January 18th, 2025).
The Met Service says high-energy, long period northerly swells are likely to continue producing occasional large breakers along near-shore coastal areas.
As such, near-shore activities including fishing, swimming and boat moorings can be disrupted, especially during high tides.
It says impacts may also include intrusion of salt water and displacement of sand, further than the average reach point.
The alert covers northern exposed coastlines of Trinidad and Tobago, including north facing coastlines of the Gulf of Paria.
