Israel and Hamas have agreed on a Qatar-mediated deal for a four-day truce in Gaza and release of 50 captives held in the enclave.
According to Al Jazeera, Hamas says about 150 Palestinian women and children held in Israeli jails to be freed as part of the deal.
However, Israel’s PM Benjamin Netanyahu says agreement does not mean the war will stop.
He has reportedly vowed that the Israeli military will press on after the pause in fighting.
In a report, BBC News says Hamas has stated that the four day pause will begin at 10:00 local time on Thursday.
Israel has not yet commented – but Foreign Minister Eli Cohen says he expected the first hostages to be received on Thursday.
More than 14,500 people – including more than 5,000 children – have reportedly been killed in Gaza since October 7th.
In Israel, the official death toll from Hamas’s attacks stands at about 1,200.
