Haiti’s transitionary council has fired its interim Prime Minister and replaced him with a former Chamber of Commerce President.

AP News says the development marks more turmoil in an already rocky democratic transition process for Haiti.
The country hasn’t held democratic elections in years amid soaring levels of gang violence.
Furthermore, AP News says the transitional presidential council, established in April, has been plagued with politics and infighting, and has long been at odds with Garry Conille.
The council was tasked with choosing Haiti’s next prime minister and Cabinet with the hope that it would help quell turmoil Haiti.
