Guyana’s President calls for fight against transnational crime

Guyana’s President Dr. Irfaan Ali has suggested a partnership with CARICOM and the Regional Security System to tackle transnational crime.

He attributed Venezuela’s economic instability to the current migration crisis which encouraged human trafficking and the illegal movement of firearms across Guyana’s borders.

President Ali urged Guyana’s Defense Force to remain vigilant and proactive in this shared threat, which he said is not confined by borders.
