Guyana’s National and Regional Elections will be held on September 1st.

This was announced by President Dr Irfaan Ali yesterday, during festivities commemorating the country’s 59th Independence Day.

He said he would soon issue the proclamation for the dissolution of Parliament.

Dr Ali will be seeking re-election for a second and final term in keeping with Guyana’s Constitution and will lead the People’s Progressive Party ticket.
