The Guyana Amazon Warriors will meet Trinbago Knight Riders in the 2023 CPL final on Sunday.

Guyana this evening beat last year’s champions Jamaica Tallawahs by 81 runs at Providence Stadium in Qualifier 2 of the tournament.

Batting first, Azam Khan (54) and Shai Hope (40) guided the Warriors to 182/6 in 20 overs – Nicholson Gordon led the bowling for the Tallawahs with 2/27 in four overs.

In response, the Tallawahs never got going – they were bowled out for 101 despite an unbeaten 43 from Imad Wasim – only 10 batters took to the crease as Mohammad Amir was absent hurt.

Imran Tahir was the chief wicket-taker for Guyana with 3/7 in 2.2 overs.

It was a clinical bowling effort from the Warriors with each of their six bowlers used picking up at least one wicket.

Guyana will take on Trinbago Knight Riders in front of a home crowd on Sunday from 7pm.
