Guyana’s President Dr Irfaan Ali has committed the Government’s support to the expansion of opportunities for the Indigenous community.
The Guyana Chronicle reported the President’s commitment to continued investments into Amerindian societies, including moves to advance Amerindian land titling.
The President added there will be a space for the community’s leaders to showcase sustainable development at Guyana’s first Global Biodiversity Alliance Summit later this year.
He also added that the Government will invest in financial empowerment for the Indigenous community but various means including increasing grants, subsidies, economic and financial literacy, and the creation of various initiatives to empower and create opportunities.
