Members of a Guyana Defence Force contingent have arrived in Carriacou to assist with rebuilding following Hurricane Beryl.
Stabroek News says the contingent’s main body consists of one officer and 49 ranks.
On arrival, the troops were greeted by Grenada Prime Minister, Dickon Mitchell, who thanked the Guyana government and its citizens.
Carriacou was almost completely destroyed by Beryl with PM Mitchell describing the post-hurricane scenes as “almost Armageddon-like.”
