Guyana is one of several countries that contributed to the hearings at the International Court of Justice on the legality of Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory.
Represented today by attorney Edward Craven, Guyana argued that Israel’s occupation is an “offence against the bedrock of international law” and a “matter of global concern.”
It also argued why Israel’s occupation is unlawful.
Guyana adds that it joined the proceedings despite its distance from the Middle East, because the occupation is particularly concerning to those opposed to any territorial acquisition by force.
