A security guard was killed as bandits targeted a security vehicle in Chin Chin, Cunupia today.

The attack occurred around noon.

According to the TTPS, Hasley Augustus was servicing an ATM when a group of about eight men ambushed him.

There was an exchange of gunfire during which time Mr Augustus was shot.

Videos by eyewitnesses show the guard lying on the ground outside the ATM, while a colleague and others tried to lend assistance.

The wounded man was taken to the Cunupia Health Facility, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The suspects escaped and remain at large.

Mr Augustus was employed by Telecom Security Services.
