Saying that there are not enough police officers in T&T is a poor excuse, according to a former Police Commissioner.
Gary Griffith believes this is the latest “cop-out” by the government to justify the country’s crime rate.
However, Mr Griffith says there is the same number of officers today as compared to when he served as Commissioner between 2018 and 2021.
Mr Griffith added that during his tenure the Rapid Response Unit ensured responses to crimes within five minutes.
He insisted that talk of a shortage of officers is “total nonsense.”
