Today is World Environment Day and Greenpeace Africa held protests against Coca-Cola’s massive plastic production, erecting a display outside its Johannesburg office in South Africa.
The activist group claims Coca-Cola produces 120 billion throwaway plastic bottles a year and is urging the company to use glass and tin packaging to cut back on plastic pollution.
Greenpeace says over 99% of plastics derive from fossil fuels, directly linking plastic production to the climate crisis.
