Govt moves to have Auditor General once again audit Central Bank

The Government will move to once again have the Auditor General audit the Central Bank’s accounts.

During Friday’s sitting of the Lower House, Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar pointed to the Central Bank Act, which she says is clear.

This follows the news that the Central Bank’s accounts were no longer being audited by the Auditor General.

According to a recent media report, since October 1st 2023, the Bank’s accounts have been audited by BDO T&T.
