“From Prison to Palace: the story of the First East Indian Commissioner of Prisons in Trinidad and Tobago” is now a story to be read.

Written by Rayanna Boodram, the book focuses on Dennis Pulchan, the now retired Prisons Commissioner and his professional journey.

Mr Pulchan and Ms Boodram offered some insight on the work during an appearance on 103.1FM’s program, Sargam, this morning.

In addition to Mr Pulchan’s 39-year journey from a Prison Officer 1 to Commissioner, it also gives a brief history of the T&T Prison Service.

Mr Pulchan says he was fulfilled in his role as a Prisons Officer, as he saw it as a divine act to help convicted persons transform their lives to become better contributors to society.

The book’s launch is scheduled for May 24th.
