Government has been providing the district of Morne Diablo with water, following reports of a scam where hundreds of dollars were being paid for a truck load of potable water.

It has been alleged that persons were deliberately locking off the WASA valves in the area to force residents to buy the truck-borne supply.

Responding to a question in the Senate today, Minister Dr. Amery Browne said the situation has been rectified, with free truck water being provided, and an aim to improve the pipe-borne supply.

The Minister says the valves that were being tampered with have been changed, to prevent further occurrences.
