Free vision screening will be offered to students in 40 primary schools across the country.
This will be facilitated through a collaboration involving the Education Ministry, Unicomer (Trinidad) Limited and the T&T Manufacturers’ Association.
The schools are part of the Ministry’s Schools of Focus, and with TTMA’s support, eye glasses will be provided for students in need.
On Tuesday October 10th, the TTMA provided Unicomer, which is the parent company of Courts Optical, with a $20,000 cheque.
This marked the first installment of a $90,000 commitment to improve eye care and visual health to students in vulnerable situations or settings.
The initiative is also part of the Ministry’s Adopt-A-School Program.
