Four men on gang charges from YouTube video

Four Morvant men were arrested on gang-related charges arising out of a YouTube video published on May 9th 2024.

Police say in the video, the individuals were seen making verbal threats, using physical gestures, and brandishing objects resembling firearms and ammunition with the intent to intimidate others, promote a gang, and profess gang membership.

The TTPS did not state whether the video in question was one of those published by Canadian vlogger Chris Must List, which led to his own charge of Sedition.

All four suspects in the gang-related matter were granted bail and are to report to police once per week.

In a separate police exercise, three suspects, two from Tunapuna and one from Five Rivers were held on June 12 for gang-related charges.

Two of them were denied bail when all three appeared in court today.

Deputy Police Commissioner Suzette Martin said the recent operations shows their dedication to rooting out gang violence, and preventing the misuse of social media by criminals.
