Floods have stranded hundreds of thousands of people in northeast India and eastern Bangladesh, also claiming over 30 lives.
According to Al Jazeera, heavy rains on Friday triggered floods and landslides which affected close to 1.7 million people, forced over 65,000 from their homes and killed at least 23 in Tripura state in India.
Authorities have opened 450 relief camps in Tripura where there has also been extensive damage to infrastructure, crops and livestock.
In neighbouring Bangladesh, the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief said some 4.5 million people were affected by floods.
The death toll in Bangladesh had risen to 13.
