A number of areas in South Trinidad experienced flooding today following heavy showers.

Areas affected included Claxton Bay, Gasparillo, parts of Marabella, Williamsville, along Guaracara Tabaquite Road and along the Solomon Hochoy Highway between Gasparillo and Marabella.

There were also reports of flooding in parts of North Trinidad such as Ariapita Avenue and Saddle Road in Maraval.

Meanwhile, rain is in the forecast tonight into tomorrow.

The Met Service says the axis of a tropical wave is expected to reach the Lesser Antilles by tomorrow.

Because of its tilt, some forward convergence and instability, in conjunction with the ITCZ, will begin to affect T&T and the Windward Islands from this evening/tonight into tomorrow morning.
