The Finance Ministry will “investigate” after the Hyatt Hotel’s recent rescinded social media posts regarding TT currency at the hotel.

On Facebook, the hotel had initially revealed a decision to stop accepting TT cash but later posted to say that the announcement was distributed prematurely with inaccurate information.

On Saturday, it assured that it would not be implementing any changes to its payment process at this time.

However, in a Twitter post yesterday, Finance Minister Colm Imbert said, while his ministry has no oversight role in Hyatt’s operations, it will “investigate the currency aspect of the matter.”
