The Finance Minister has responded to a PSA press release about a decision regarding the T&T Revenue Authority.

Minister Colm Imbert noted that the deadline was extended from July 31st to November 30th for public officers from BIR and Customs to decide whether:
1) To transfer to the TTRA
2) Retire from the public service, or
3) Remain in the public service if a suitable alternative position in available

In a release on Monday, the PSA, referring to the deadline extension, claimed government “backed down” on its plans to force public officers to make a decision.

However, Mr Imbert notes this decision was not made a result of a minority decision in the Court of Appeal but after consideration of all factors involved.
