Point Fortin native Fanny Parris celebrated her 100th birthday yesterday.
Relatives and loved ones from as far as England and the USA gathered at her home in Maracas Gardens, St. Josephto celebrate the momentous occasion.
The centenarian admitted that she never thought about celebrating her 100th birthday, and attributes her longevity to “eating the food of the land” such as dasheen, yam, fig, fresh fish, yard fowl, fresh cow’s milk and mor.
She also credited God for the milestone occasion stating “Everything is possible with God, once you keep him as your bosom body.”
Yesterday, Social Development Minister Donna Cox presented Ms Parris with a Certificate of Honour and Achievement in recognition of her valuable contributions to Trinidad and Tobago.
