Family of a St. Stephen’s College student to meet with social workers

The Ministry of Social Development says social workers will soon meet with the family of a St. Stephen’s College student who recently committed suicide.

The Ministry says it reached out to relatives, who indicated their willingness to meet with social workers.

Following the tragedy, it is also reminding of the availability of the Suicide Prevention Hotline: 800-COPE (2673).

It says this hotline is free of charge and available 24/7 to support persons with crisis issues related to suicidal thoughts, abuse, and anxiety.

The Hotline also provides both internal and external referral systems, ensuring individuals can access additional services if needed. To enhance our support network, we have established collaborations with the Ministry of Health, NGOs, Community Based Organisations, and various government and non-government agencies.
