A worldwide outage of Meta services, including Facebook, Messenger and Instagram occurred today, sending social media users into a frenzy.

Accounts were automatically logged out, some were unable to refresh their feeds and other found error messages.

Users initially believed they were hacked but many went to social media site Twitter, where thousands of persons posted about their shared issue.

Within two hours of going down, Meta said it solved a technical problem which caused the outage.
