EOC looks to increase presence in Tobago

The Equal Opportunities Commission is looking to increase its presence in Tobago.

According to the EOC, approximately 5-10% of complaints received are from Tobago residents.

On March 1st, the Commission’s Board paid a courtesy call on Deputy Chief Secretary Dr. Faith B.Yisrael, to lay the foundation for greater collaboration between both entities.

EOC Chairman Ian Roach says given the importance of tourism on the island, public offices and spaces, tourist sites, facilities and accommodations should be more inclusive to offer disabled persons a more enriching experience.

Dr. B.Yisrael also reportedly promised to engage the respective officers to encourage persons who have pending approvals for facilities and structures to be more inclusive in their designs.
