Energy Minister Stuart Young has met with several Methanex executives to discuss future projects.
During today’s meeting, the company’s Senior Vice President – Financial Officer, Dean Richardson acknowledged the accelerated positive outlook for T&T’s upstream sector.
Minister Young also spoke on Government negotiations that laid the ground work for future developments such as Mento and Cypre which are both expected to be online in 2025, the Manatee Project which is expected to be online in 2027, and other cross-border initiatives.
Methanex’s Managing Director & President Colin Bain also provided an update on the company’s efforts to reduce the carbon intensity of its operations.
The Energy Ministry says this is in keeping with T&T’s commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, as it has been actively engaged with the downstream energy sector to support the implementation of this country’s Nationally Determined Contribution.
