The EMA says it will begin taking online payments and applications for Certificates of Environmental Clearance from October 1st.
This will eliminate paper-based applications and the need to visit a physical location.
With this ease of doing business, citizens have been calling for an online and cashless option of paying the property tax.
Currently, on a daily basis, citizens have been forced to line up for hours at District Revenue Offices to pay the tax.
There is currently no method of online payment, with only cash or cheques being accepted.
