An electoral fraud trial, involving key opposition political figures and former senior elections officials, is expected to continue today.
Charges in the trial stem from allegations of vote manipulation during the 2020 general and regional elections.
According to the Guyana Chronicle, the trial was originally scheduled to restart on August 7th, 2024.
However, proceedings were delayed as Senior Magistrate Leron Daly was granted 30 days leave to recover from an illness.
The trial first began on July 29th, 2024.
