Four decades after the 1st ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ movie was released, Eddie Murphy is set to return as Axel Foley.

On Monday Netflix released a first-look photo of Murphy clad in Foley’s familiar Detroit Lions jacket.

In its social media posts, it also announced that ‘Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley’ will arrive next year.

Original ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ cast members Judge Reinhold, Paul Reiser, John Ashton and Bronson Pinchot are reportedly all set to reprise their roles in the new installment.

They will be joined by Kevin Bacon, Taylour Paige and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

‘Beverly Hills Cop’ first premiered in 1984 and earned an Oscar nomination for best original screenplay.

Two sequels then followed: ‘Beverly Hills Cop II’ in 1987 and ‘Beverly Hills Cop III’ in 1994.
