The UNC’s election petition regarding the Arima Northeast district has been dismissed by the court, according to the EBC.
The petition reportedly surrounded the EBC’s handling of a recount and review of ballots in the district which was eventually declared to have been won by the PNM.
In a media release today, the EBC says the UNC’s election petition has since been dismissed by Justice Frank Seepersad.
It says the judge found that the petition filed was flawed in that there was a failure to comply with mandatory provisions of the Representation of the People Act relating to election petitions.
