The EBC has released the preliminary results for the two Local Government Bye-Elections held yesterday.

The results confirm that PNM’s Autly Granthume won Lengua/Indian Walk with 1,986 votes compared to UNC’s Nicole Gopaul who got 1,394 and independent candidate Peterson Morales who picked up 10.

The EBC also confirmed that UNC’s Sarah Sookdeo won Quinam/Morne Diablo with 2,239 votes against the PNM’s Anderson Nanan who got 976 votes.

There have been no requests for recounts in either district.

Voter turnout increased in both districts – Lengua/Indian Walk moving from 35.23% in 2023 to 40.29% this year and Quinam/Morne Diablo moving from 31.88% in 2023 to 38.57% this year.
