EBC ready for 2025 General Elections

The Elections and Boundaries Commission says all 2,316 polling stations are ready for Monday’s General Elections.

It says the stations have been established and are equipped with the necessary staffing, materials and supplies.

It says inspections have also been conducted to ensure each location meets high standards of accessibility, functionality, and safety.

As for staff, it says over 13,000 election officials and polling day staff received training to equip them with the skills needed to assist voters and administer the voting process efficiently.

According to the EBC, training included voting procedures, conflict resolution strategies, and the implementation of health and safety protocols.

It adds that there will be collaboration with the TTPS to ensure “robust security arrangements” to safeguard voters, election personnel, and the integrity of the electoral process.

Meanwhile, the EBC says its duties leading up to Election Day included Voter Education to  inform citizens about the voting process, polling locations, voters’ rights, electoral regulations, and potential electoral offences.

Chief Election Officer Fern Narcis Scope says, “Our team has worked diligently to ensure that every eligible voter can exercise their right to vote safely and confidently as they participate in this vital democratic exercise.”

The polls will be open from 6am to 6pm.
