EBC Chief: Polling staff enhanced training to deal with electoral mishaps for GE 2025 Elections

The Elections and Boundaries Commission’s Chief Election Officer says efforts have been made to better train and equip polling staff in the lead up to the April 28th General Election.

Responding to questions from 103.1FM News, Election Chief Fern Narcis-Scope says the EBC has amended its training methodologies to address any issues that may contribute to electoral mishaps, including election deadlocks.

Regarding the recruitment of polling staff, she notes that over 47,000 applications were received to date and recruitment continues until March 24th at midnight.

The CEO is urging persons to regularize their voter status, especially new voters who will turn 18 after the end of the Electoral Registration Period.

She says voters should update any registration information, including name changes by marriage or change of address at the nearest EBC office, which now have extended opening hours.
