Drydocking of M.V. Cabo Star on July 12th

On July 12th 2025, the M.V. Cabo Star will be taken out of service to undergo its planned, statutory maintenance programme.

The T&T Inter-Island Transportation Company says based on the scope of works, the vessel is expected to resume normal operations after three weeks.

It adds that prior to dry-docking, additional sailings have been scheduled to facilitate stockpiling, as follows:

Saturday 21st June and Saturday 5th July, 2025
Departure from Port of Spain: 1PM & Departure from Scarborough: 10PM

It adds that during the drydocking period, three vessels will be dedicated to augment the cargo operations.

The total utilization of the fleet of vessels is as follows:

It adds that to reduce the inconvenience experienced with the unpredictability of the M.V. Emprendedora, the following measures will be implemented to ensure that cargo services are adequately facilitated:

  1. Accessing the Cargo Services
    a. A cargo office will be setup at the Cruise Ship Complex to facilitate making appointments for bulk cargo services on the MV Emprendedora as well as a seating area for customers waiting to collect their vehicles.
    b. Based on the appointment schedule, any items to be loaded onto flatbeds will be done directly in the area between berths 3 & 4.
    c. Given the current constraints, the recommended method of cargo transfer is via trucks below the 10-ton weight limit.
    d. All other cargo services can be accessed at the Government Shipping Service (G.S.S.) Terminal.
  2. Communications
    a. A dedicated mobile number with WhatsApp messaging to allow for effective communication with real time updates will be shared subsequently.
    b. Updates to be posted via social media (Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TTFERRY, Instagram: @ttferries, WhatsApp Channel – Trinidad and Tobago Inter-island Transportation Company Ltd. and Website: https://www.ttitferry.com ), press releases, and other broadcasts.
