Instructions have been given by the DPP to charge the soldier involved in the crash that claimed the life of Kiss delivery van driver Neil Ballai.
According to the Trinidad Express, the charges are causing death by dangerous driving, driving without a certificate of insurance, failing to stop, and failing to render aid.
On March 28th, 2024, Ballai was out on deliveries and driving along the Solomon Hochoy Highway when there was a collision with a car which killed him at the scene.
The suspect, who continued driving and was seen in Preysal later on, eventually turned himself into the police but was released pending further investigations.
The T&T Newsday says the soldier is now expected to be served via summons.
