A meeting has been held with residents of Kernahan and Cascadoux in Mayaro, regarding mud volcano activity in the area.

The Corporation’s Disaster Management Unit informed the residents of evacuation routes and muster points in the event of an eruption.

It also gathered information from those interested in training under the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) initiative.

Also present was geologist Xavier Moonan who gave a presentation on mud volcanoes, their formation and the warning signs that occur prior to an eruption.
