Trinbago Knight Riders confirmed a playoff spot in the 2023 Caribbean Premier League after a seven-wicket win over St Lucia Kings at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.

Kieron Pollard won the toss and chose to field first.

Former TKR star Colin Munro was in run-scoring form, putting up 71 not out in 51 balls as St Lucia Kings ended on 167/3 in 20 overs – birthday-boy Jayden Seales took a wicket and two catches to be involved in all three wickets.

Then came the TKR chase – while similar to the previous night against Jamaica Tallawahs, it was led by different contributors – Deyal made 57 and, another birthday-boy, Lorcan Tucker made 38 not out.

Andre Russell came in and finished the chase off in quick time with a 13-ball 29 as TKR got to 169/3 in 18.5 overs.

The win leaves TKR top of the table with 13 points and just one game to go, while Guyana Amazon Warriors head into their home games in second place with 11 points from 6 games.

Speaking after the game, Deyal said his innings was fueled by a drive to give himself a chance to make a significant total.
