Details  have been released regarding a military escort for the late Basdeo Panday for his State Funeral on Tuesday 9th January 2024.

At 8:10am, Mr Panday will be conveyed, under military escort, from the corner of Cipero Street and Rienzi Kirton Highway, onto Todd Street and into SAPA, where the State Funeral will take place from 9am.

Following the funeral service, the cortege will depart SAPA at 11:30am and proceed left onto Balisier Avenue and then onto the San Fernando Bypass, continuing south onto South Trunk Road and onto Mosquito Creek Road.

At 12:40pm, the military procession will begin its escort on Mosquito Creek Road and proceed north, turning into the Shore of Peace Cremation Site.

Meanwhile, on the day before, Monday 8th January 2024, Mr Panday’s body will lie in Honour at SAPA.

On that day, he will be conveyed from DASS Funeral Home in Marabella, along San Fernando Bypass onto Cross Crossing Interchange, to Rienzi Kirton Highway, then onto Todd Street and into SAPA.

The drive will begin at 7:10am.

The public viewing at SAPA will take place from 9am to 5:30pm.
